Dear Neil: After the recent rains, my 15-yearold red oak has started dropping leaves. It’s about 30 feet tall and had been just perfect.

May is Older Americans Month. This is when the nation celebrates and honors older Americans. May is a time to recognize older Americans for their contributions, and provide them with information to help them stay healthy and active.

Dear Neil: What is this absolutely stunning groundcover I saw at a shopping center recently? It’s not just an annual, is it? That’s purpleheart (Setcreasea pallida). It’s a sister to the tropical hanging basket plants known as wandering Jews.
