FSISD newly approved calendar for 2021-2022 school year

The Fort Stockton ISD school board approved numerous changes to the school calendar at Monday's school board meeting, including a change to a nine-week grading period after previously having six-week grading periods, and giving the students a day off after the Super Bowl.

More professional development days for the teachers and administrators were also added to the calendar. See the attached image for all the details on the newly improved calendar

FSISD to host vaccine clinic

The FSISD partnered with the National Guard to provide free Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines to students, parents, and the community on Tuesday, Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m at the Special Events Center at FSHS.

Ages 12 and up can receive a COVID-19 vaccine shot. They will be given out on a first come first serve basis.

The clinic comes after a decision made at Monday's school board meeting that there will not be a virtual learning option this upcoming school year. The decision was supported by administrators, staff, and a majority of teachers.

PSP announces grant assistance for rural counties

The Permian Strategic Partnership announced on July 27 an initiative to provide professional grant writing, management, and training expertise to local governments, school districts, and non-profits in rural West Texas counties to strengthen their ability to successfully compete for state, federal, and private grant programs.
