Sul Ross State University’s Omicron Phi Chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national Political Science honor society, welcomed six new members during its first fall induction ceremony, held virtually in September. The event was attended by faculty, students, and friends of the society and marked the beginning of another successful year for the chapter.

The Fort Stockton Independent School District (FSISD) Board of Education convened for a special meeting on Wednesday, November 13, to address a series of significant district matters. The meeting, held at 101 W Division in Fort Stockton, began at 5:30 p.m. with Board President Flo Garcia calling the session to order.

After nearly a decade of globetrotting research, a powerful astronomical instrument has returned home to The University of Texas at Austin’s McDonald Observatory. The Immersion Grating Infrared Spectrograph (IGRINS) was re-installed on the Observatory’s Harlan J. Smith Telescope on October 17 and expects to start scientific operations on December 10.
