Mingo’s Burritos opened on September 1, 2010, and has been an active and supportive member of the Chamber since 2011. The Fort Stockton Film Society will host a free public screening of the 1985 adventure film The Goonies on Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Nelson Street Theater.

USDA Opens Nominations for Local Farm Service Agency County Committees

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is now accepting nominations for farmers and ranchers to serve on local Farm Service Agency (FSA) county committees. The committees play a key role in administering federal farm programs at the local level. Nomination forms for the 2025 election must be submitted to local FSA offices or postmarked by Aug. 1, 2025.

“Rest in Peace, Marine”

July 9th, a Wednesday morning, Fort Stockton gathered under solemn skies to honor the life of Jaime Morales—a U.S. Marine, beloved son, and familiar face across town—who was tragically killed in a hit-and-run on July 1.
Loved ones gathered to lay Jaime Morales to rest. The service included full military honors from the United States Marine Corps, a solemn final salute for a life taken too soon. Taps echoed through the air as family and friends said goodbye. Jaime was killed in a hit-and-run on July 1, a case that remains under investigation. Fort Stockton City Council Celebrates Departing Member

The Fort Stockton City Council convened Monday evening for its regular meeting at City Hall, where members addressed a range of items, including the departure of one of their members. The council formally accepted the resignation of Paul Jerome Chavez from his position on the Fort Stockton City Council.
City officials gathered to celebrate the service of Paul Jerome Chavez on Monday. Chavez isn’t going far though, as he is now serving his Pct as a Pecos County Commissioner.
