April 12, 1962 issue: FIRST IN JUDGING – The Pecos County 4-H livestock judging team, left to right, Ross Jones, Hank Taylor, Adult leader Charles Taylor, Budd Hammond and Butch Taylor, won first over a field of 14 teams last weened at Sul Ross.

March March 18, 1993 issue: COUNTRY ADDRESS OPENING celebration was held on March 13. New owner Joyce Childs was assisted by her granddaughter, Lyndsey Childs in cutting the blue ribbon supplied by the Fort Stockton Chamber of Commerce. Numerous friends and members of the ambassadors club attended the gala event.

March 15, 1973 issue: FSHS ROYALTY - Monte and Worthie Brooks, son and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brooks of Fort Stockton, were named Mr. and Miss Fort Stockton High School at the annual favorites dance Saturday night. After being named the most popular couple at FSHS, the brother and sister were escorted to their throne by Mickey and Minnie Mouse, hosts at the dance. The favorites were picked in an all-school election held recently.

March 13,1958 issue: STUDENTS BENEFIT: Music teachers of Fort Stockton schools work hard to interest students in programs presented by the Fort Stockton Community Concert Association. Students from all five schools are always represented. Those who have enjoyed the first two programs of the 1957-1958 season are, left to right, Lupe Celaya, Senaida Gonzales, Alicia Franco, from Butz elementary, Mrs. John Wood, Virginia Peeler, Maudie McIntyre, Linda Lewis, Kathy Hillin, and Sara Bullock, from Alamo elementary.

Feb. 14, 1980 Issue: RIBBON CUTTING AT NEW CARPET STORE . . . The new home of Urias Floor Coverings, 101 S. Main, celebrated its grand opening Friday afternoon with a ribbon-cutting held inside the store. Owners of the business, Mr. and Mrs. Humberto Urias (center, with scissors) did the cutting honors as members of the Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and employees of the business watched. In ins new downtown location Urias Floor Coverings has a modern showroom featuring many name-brand carpets and floor coverings.
