May 1975 issue: TAKE AWARDS AT SUL ROSS – At the Sul Ross History and Government Contest held April 18 in Alpine, Fort Stockton High School student Kenneth Rainwater (right, center) took first place in world history, and Jed Arnett (left center) was fourth in government. Honorable mention certificates were awarded to Joe Duerksen and Freda Gipson.

May 1968 issue: SENIOR MEMBERS – These five Pecos County 4-H members, (L-R) Karen Wynne, Patti Johnson, Paul Weatherby, Steve Beattie, and Becky Weatherby, all senior members, will be entered in state-wide 4-H competition at Texas A&M University June 4-6. Miss Weatherby won first place in clothing educational activity, while the others all won second places at the District 6 4-H contests Saturday in Odessa.
