The Roman Empire, The “Fall of the Roman Empire” can be linked to a rise in eastern powers, weakening of the Roman Military, harmful immigration into Roman territories, corrupt and incompetent politicians throughout Roman regions, creation of money that was worth less, or worth nothing, social instability, rampant immorality, and assassination. You don’t have to look hard to find existing parallels in the USA today, with the most worrisome being the many Americans, like Nero, who only fiddle around while America burns. To identify the players who would allow America to fall it’s best to begin within the U.S. Democrat Regime, then search for RINOS who assist in the destructive agendas of those Democrat players. With all this in mind we should acknowledge there are still many Americans who really care about what happens to the USA. We can only pray they aren’t too late to do something about the many self-serving players. God Bless America.

Dear Editor, It was rather surprising to learn of our City Council’s recent decision to permit the sale of water from the Blue Ridge Farms to a “green” hydrogen project being set up out in Pecos County.

In last week’s paper there was an article on a school board meeting where a scheduling change was proposed by the admin and our board that was an effort to spend more classroom time to help some students make better progress in their academic education. It was reported in this paper that the general consensus from parents attending was the last thing that their children need is more time in school.

My name is Tristian Barragan, and I am here to address the request for proposals for the management of the Fort Stockton Convention Center Theater. I stand before you today not to rehash the grievances surrounding the abrupt termination as managers of the Movie Theatre, but to reaffirm our dedication to this community and its well-being.

The fresh water aquifers and rivers of Texas are in danger — in particular the Pecos River and the aquifers underlying the Permian Basin. I own a ranch on the Pecos River in Crockett County, and the health of the Pecos, and the underlying aquifers, is very important The Friends of the Pecos is a group formed to protect the Pecos River, and I am a member.

Dear Editor: In Bible Prophecy, there is no mention or hint of the existence of the USA. Could it be that the Democrat Marxists are going to destroy the USA? Some ten million illegal aliens from all over the world have invaded our country the last three years.

Most of us have a family member or at least know someone who is a retired educator. Our retired educators served a lifetime teaching or working to support school districts in some capacity to help us become productive citizens. You may find it interesting to know that the TRS (Teacher Retirement System of Texas) does not include a COLA (cost-of-living adjustment). Also, it is important to know that many retired educators are not eligible for Social Security and are solely dependent on their TRS pension.

Dear Editor: A sign on a store in Fort Stockton says, “You can be a success if you believe in yourself!” Wrong! You can be a success if you believe in God! What are non-Christian humanists going to do on their deathbeds? Believe in themselves? The problem with the human race is everyone just believes in theirselves: Hamas, The Taliban ISIS, Iran, Putin, etc. just believe in theirselves.
