The Annual Fort Stockton Christmas Parade took place on Dickinson Boulevard and Main Street on Dec. 3. Over 50 vehicles and 100 individuals participated in the event. The winners of this year’s parade were: Best Overall - Mesquite Tree Gifts, Ice Cream and Coffee Shop; Best Float - O’Reilly’s Autoparts; Best Walking - Fort Stockton High School Band; Best Riding - Lannom Industries Buggies. It is a word that is heard often. But for Rachel Rodriguez, it is a way of life.

As a 1991 graduate of Fort Stockton High School, Rodriguez’s pride and joy has always been with her community. She hopes to continue that connection in her new position at the Pecos County Memorial Hospital as Chief Nursing Officer.

The average traveler stops in Fort Stockton for the duration of topping off a gas tank. However, Thanksgiving weekend always brings in a crowd of travelers who stay for days at a time. Driving in to see family, couple Cyndi and Mark of East Texas arrived Wednesday night and stayed until Sunday morning.

Student Spotlight: Dual credits propel Duarte's success at Texas State

Midland College Williams Training Technical Center in Fort Stockton offers students the unique ability to be far ahead of the curve when they enter college at a university or in the real world. First-year Texas State student and 2020 Fort Stockton High School graduate Kylie Duarte took full advantage of the dual credit courses offered to students at the high school level over the past three years.
