A group of Fort Stockton freshmen visited the Midland College/WRTTC campus in Fort Stockton earlier in the month. Students learned about the possibilities of taking dual credit classes and programs where they can earn certifications in energy, nursing and business.

Toastmasters in Fort Stockton recognized winners at their regular meeting on Nov. 12 at the Fort Stockton Public Library. Karan Heffelfinger, right, was recognized as the Best Speaker by Alicia Salinas, left. Houston McKenzie, middle, and Salinas tied for the Best Table Topics Speakers. The Fort Stockton Independent School District honored their Student of the Month for November at the district’s regular board meeting on Nov. 15. One student from each campus gets recognized every month. Students that were awarded with a certificate were: Fernando Corralez (high school), Lesly Burrola (intermediate school), Cato Jerry May (Alamo Elementary), Larry Urbano (Apache Elementary). County farmers, ranchers to vote in election

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has started mailing ballots for the Farm Service Agency county committee elections to eligible farmers and ranchers across the country. To be counted, ballots must be returned to the Pecos-Terrell County FSA office at 2306 W Dickinson Blvd, Ste. 1 or postmarked by Dec. 6.

Members of Xi Leta Lambda held a Holiday Auction on Nov. 18 at the meeting hall connected to the Fort Stockton Community Theatre. A week into his monthlong vacation, Dan of Florida pulled into town last Thursday with his wife Megan. While driving through Texas, the couple mapped out a constellation of National Parks to visit while making their way to California.
