What began as a simple act of remembrance has grown into one of Fort Stockton’s most heartfelt traditions of service. Following the passing of Richard Reeves, family and friends came together in 2005 with a shared purpose— to help others facing long-term illness, especially cancer.

Dear Neil: I xeriscaped my front yard in November 2014 and used the compact form Microburst Texas sage. I’m wondering why one plant died. Its leaves turned a deep gray. Leaves at the bases of the other plants seem brittle and fall off easily with touch. Otherwise, the plants look fine.

Texas will need to invest $174 billion over the next 50 years to keep up with water demand, according to a draft 2027 state water plan approved last week, the Austin American-Statesman reported. That is more than twice the projected cost in the previous state water plan published in 2022.
