She was born in Sanderson, Texas and was a resident of Fort Stockton from 1983-2018, moved to San Antonio in 2018. She was a teacher for 40 years. She was a Guadlpana and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in fort Stockton, and Saint Anthony Mary Claret in San Antonio.

Donnie Z Gonzalez, age 55, of Midland, Texas, went to heaven surrounded by family on Dec. 5, 2023 after a year and a half battling cancer. Donnie was born on July 7, 1968, in Alpine to Roman and Irma Gonzalez. He grew up in Fort Stockton and started his adult life in Midland where he met his soulmate Sherri and daughter Victoria and loved her as his own.

Adan Ulysses "Donnie" Alvarez, 40, of Ft. Stockton, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023, in El Paso, Texas.

Adan was born on Jan. 17, 1983, in Ft. Stockton, Texas, to Raul Alvarez and Anbale Pena. Adan went to school in Fort Stockon. He always had a smile on his face and enjoyed bike riding, skating, baseball and was a devout Catholic believer.

County enters into lease agreement with FS Chamber for rodeo

The five-year run of the Comanche Springs Rodeo has been a successful one for the Fort Stockton Chamber of Commerce and all of Pecos County. The Chamber and County hope to continue that trend, and mutually agreed to a five-year lease agreement on Monday morning to continue the rodeo every fourth weekend In March at the Pecos County Civic Center and Pecos County Coliseum.
