Donnie Z Gonzalez, age 55, of Midland, Texas, went to heaven surrounded by family on Dec. 5, 2023 after a year and a half battling cancer. Donnie was born on July 7, 1968, in Alpine to Roman and Irma Gonzalez. He grew up in Fort Stockton and started his adult life in Midland where he met his soulmate Sherri and daughter Victoria and loved her as his own.

Donnie married Sherri in 1996 and they had their daughter Bethany in 2001. Donnie would work at Pizza Hut for 15 years and then later would work at Steak Express, where he enjoyed making people’s days brighter. Donnie had a passion for all things related to food and was an excellent cook.

He also loved playing the guitar and listening to country, Tejano, and especially metal music. He loved all things X-Men, Star Wars, and Sopranos.

Donnie is preceded in death by his father Roman, his uncle Johnny, and his dearly departed pets; of which include his sweet companions Gigi and Red.

Donnie is survived by his wife Sherri, his two daughters Victoria (Jesse) and Bethany, his mother Irma; his brother Gilbert (Angie), and his beloved kitty, Koda; well as his sister-in-law Sharon (Brian); his brother-in-law Johnny; his nieces and nephews Megan, Shane, Thaliah, Isabella, Avery, Luke, and Audrina; well as his great-nephews Toby, Blake, and Hunter.

A celebration of life for Donnie will be held on Dec. 16, 2023 at 1 p.m. at 3205 W. Cuthbert Ave Suite A-8 Midland, Texas, 79701.
