Six Panthers punched their ticket to the regional track meet and Fort Stockton finished in third place as a team on April 20 at the 4A District 3-4 Area Track & Field Championships at West Texas A&M University in Canyon.

Fort Stockton leadoff hitter Adrian Hernandez and freshman Gerry Diaz led the Panthers to a 10-2 victory on April 21 at Pecos, tallying three hits apiece in their second-tolast regular season contest.

• Adan Ulysses Alvarez, DOB 1/17/1983, offense date 2/29/2020 (CR23930, Terroristic Threat) Defendant pleaded guilty. Time served one hundred thirty-six (136) days in the county jail.

It is important to note that an arrest should not be considered as evidence of guilt. The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Pecos County Toastmasters is seeking new members. The mission of Toastmasters Club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has an opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.

To all my Fort Stockton friends and colleagues, as my next chapter in my career begins next week, I want to express my appreciation and gratitude to all of you and the community of Fort Stockton for embracing me the last two years and eight months.

When I was younger, I wanted to write a book about my life. I did not want to name anyone, so I thought about changing the names of my characters. But after a long consideration, I thought if people knew me then it would not take long to figure out who I was referring to.
