When I was younger, I wanted to write a book about my life. I did not want to name anyone, so I thought about changing the names of my characters. But after a long consideration, I thought if people knew me then it would not take long to figure out who I was referring to.

So, that thought stayed in the back of my mind. By that time, I had watched a movie where there was a rapping contest. They would go against each other and say things about each other. Then it came to the last two and one just lays it out and talks about himself, so the other guy has nothing else to say.

That’s what I did! It took a lot but at that time I was tired of people murmuring. So, I laid out and told my story, that became part of my testimony.

I was a lush, a lost soul; I had friends in low places, “where the whiskey drowns, and the beer chased my blues away.”

But my God got a hold of me in the depths of my darkness and pulled me out.

Ephesians says, ”But[c] God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus (2:46),” I am his redeemed, a child of the most high. Now I have friends in high places, The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, Hallelujah! I am a new creation, the old has passed, behold, the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17).
