A sizeable improvement was made by the Panthers varsity basketball program this season. No better example to show that advancement than Fort Stockton’s final game of the season against neighboring rival Pecos.

The Fort Stockton High School golf program hosted the annual Fort Stockton Invitational Feb. 17-18 at Desert Pines Golf Course.

After shivering to a trio of wins to open the Third Annual Comanche Classic on Thursday, the Fort Stockton Prowlers varsity softball team got a day of rest Friday before entering bracket play Saturday. The rest did the Prowlers good as Fort Stockton blanked Clint 6-0 and rolled Pecos 13-5 in the championship game to win their home tourney.

The once-a-year opportunity for area residents to have cats and dogs fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped at a low cost in Fort Stockton will be on Saturday, March 11 at the Big Bend Fix 14. The annual event will take place at the Fort Stockton Convention Center, located at 2181 Interstate 10 Service Road, starting at 9 a.m.
