Midland College WRTTC hosts Cinco de Mayo fundraiser

The Midland College-WRTTC Alumni’s Second Annual Cinco de Mayo Cornhole Tournament was held on May 5 at K-Bobs Restaurant in Fort Stockton. The event was organized by the WRTTC Alumni group to raise money to assist the WRTTC in events like the Welcome Back Bash Orientation, and primarily to support Scholars’ Dollars Scholarship Fundraisers.

The first-place winner, Sanchi Bhakta, will have her artwork displayed on a City sanitation truck for five years. The second-place ribbon went to Audrina Ureste and the third place ribbon went to Andrea Hernandez. Be Cool/Stay Cool Summer Camp begins on June 13

Fort Stockton Community Theatre announces its third annual Be Cool/ Stay Cool Summer Theatre Camp for youth aged from end of Kindergarten to end of eighth grade. The camp will run at the Nelson Street Theatre, 102 South Nelson St., from Monday, June 13 through Friday, June 24 from 1-4 p.m.

It’s that time of year again, where the end of the school year means more free time for families with kids who are eager to take a break from the books and partake in outdoor pursuits. One way youngsters can become familiar with some of the national park sites while completing fun activities and earning merit badges is through the Junior Rangers Park program.
