Delmon “Papa” Hodges passed away at the age of 94 in his home town of Fort Stockton, Texas. Papa was the patriarch of a large family, all of whom loved him dearly.

Brain Anthony Gonzales, of Fort Stockton at 12:45 a.m., officers from the Department of Public Safety apprehended Gonzales and he was charged with unlawful carrying of weapon and possession of marijuana less than two ounces.

ROTARY CLUB TOY DRIVE
Santa made a special visit to Fort Stockton a few days ahead of Christmas. With some of his elves and other helpers, Santa delivered dozens of toys around town to children and families in need on the morning of Dec. 18. Opening the door to see an unexpected guest, the children were ecstatic.

Convention Center receives exterior makeover
The exterior of the city’s Convention Center is now amplified with a new gray paint color as numerous renovations continue on the inside. If no unforeseen delays occur, additional lighting will be installed outside of the building soon. New signage is said to come further down the line.
Mesa Solutions donates gifts to children

Clover has begun to invade St. Augustine lawn
Dear Neil: I have a St. Augustine lawn that has been very healthy. Recently, however, clover has started to invade it. I’ve sprayed with 2,4-D. It kills it for a while, but then it comes back. What will kill it for good?
