Delmon Papa” Hodges passed away at the age of 94 in his home town of Fort Stockton, Texas.  Papa was the patriarch of a large family, all of whom loved him dearly.

Brain Anthony Gonzales, of Fort Stockton at 12:45 a.m., officers from the Department of Public Safety apprehended Gonzales and he was charged with unlawful carrying of weapon and possession of marijuana less than two ounces. Gonzales received bonds totaling $1,500 and was released the same day.

ROTARY CLUB TOY DRIVE

Santa made a special visit to Fort Stockton a few days ahead of Christmas. With some of his elves and other helpers, Santa delivered dozens of toys around town to children and families in need on the morning of Dec. 18. Opening the door to see an unexpected guest, the children were ecstatic. Through donations to the Fort Stockton Rotary Club’s toy drive, several children will have an extra special holiday this year. The exterior of the city’s Convention Center is now amplified with a new gray paint color as numerous renovations continue on the inside. Toastmasters held their regular meeting in Fort Stockton on Nov. 12. Karan Heffelfinger, right, won the Best Speaker Award. Houston McKinzie, middle, was selected as the Best Evaluator.
