Tough District Opener

The Fort Stockton Prowler basketball teams tipped off their district season with a trio of games against the Seminole Maidens at home on January 3. The matches marked the start of a new year and the beginning of district play, but the day proved challenging for the Prowlers as they fell short across all levels.

Panther baseball wins four straight at Comanche Classic

This past weekend the Fort Stockton Panthers competed in the Comanche Classic Baseball Tournament, winning four straight games on their home field. On Thursday the Panthers defeated Reagan County 11-0 with Corbin Luna pitching the entire game. On Friday the Panthers defeated Borger 4-1 with Isaiah Velasquez pitching five innings and Gerry Diaz pitching two innings.

FSMS boys relay team ranked fifth in the nation

The Fort Stockton Middle School boys’ track teams wrapped up their season with another solid showing at the district meet. Highlights include a first-place finish by Nikolas Sotelo in the high jump with a season-best jump of 5’ 8”, and a first-place finish by the 4x400m relay team consisting of Jeremiah Gonzalez, Andrian Rivera, Michael “Bubba” Patino, and Nikolas Sotelo. Their time of 3:45.98 tied a nearly forty-yearold school record and ranks fifth in the nation and second in the state among teams reporting to Athletic. net.

The Fort Stockton Trash Pandas recently received a generous donation. However, instead of keeping it for themselves, they chose to pay it forward to the Fort Stockton Special Needs Athletes.

Middle School swimmers set records in Monahans

The FSMS Blue Wave swim team competed at the Monahans Invitational Friday, March 22, where a remarkable five school records were broken. The boys couldn’t let the girls have all the fun breaking records. The 200 Freestyle Relay of Grayson Foster, Camiren Sexton, Haizen Gregory, and Mason May broke the long-standing record by two seconds that was set in 2016 with a time of 2:21.41.
