The Sul Ross State University volleyball team (2-2) lost to New Mexico Highlands and Fort Lewis on Day 2 of the Mustang Invitational, Saturday at Drag’s Court. New Mexico Highlands (3-1) – L, 3-0 (25-- 21, 25-11, 25-16) The first set saw New Mexico Highlands get out to a 9-6 lead.

Panthers Bounce Back at Home with Dominant Win over Alpine

There’s no place like home for the Fort Stockton Panthers, who rebounded in a big way after a tough loss on the road the week before. In their home opener at the newly renovated Panther Stadium, Fort Stockton rolled past the Alpine Bucks with a commanding 59-16 victory. The win extended the Panthers’ dominance in the Highway 67 rivalry, marking their fifth straight victory over Alpine.

On a warm September morning, the sound of laughter and quick volleys echoed across the newly renovated pickleball courts at Fort Stockton Intermediate School. About a dozen players came together, paddles in hand, proving once again that pickleball is more than just a game—it’s becoming a movement in Fort Stockton.

Panther Football Opens Season

The Fort Stockton Panthers officially opened their 2025 football season last week, with the Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Freshman squads all taking the field against the San Angelo Lake View Chiefs. It was a week filled with lessons, grit, and flashes of promise across all levels of the program.

Panther Cross Country Shines at Crane Meet Despite Longer Course

The Fort Stockton Cross Country team continued their strong start to the 2025 season with an impressive showing at the Crane Invitational on Saturday, August 30. The courses proved to be more challenging than anticipated, with the twomile course measuring 2.11 miles and the threemile course stretching to 3.14 miles. Even with the added distance, the Panthers rose to the occasion, collecting medals, personal records, and plenty of momentum heading into their next meet.

Panther Tennis Splits Weekend

The Fort Stockton Panther Tennis team showed both dominance and determination this past weekend, splitting their two matches on the road. The Panthers opened with a commanding 10-4 win over Big Spring, then followed up with a hardfought battle against Wall that ended in a 3-10 loss.
