As we prepare for tomorrows battles, we all should be praying for better and desiring to see more of God and His plan. We keep praying for a big move from God, and then make the choices not go to church, to prayer night nor bible study. In other words we do not want to get involved with what is needed. In 2 chronicles 7:14 God says “if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” As Christians we all should be seeking and praying for revival and awakening. We should be ready and willing to get up and do, go out and seek the lost and the many in our nation who need to return to Jesus Christ. We want a better tomorrow; we must devote our hearts and ways of life to God and be filled with His Holy Spirit. May the awakening begin with you!

GARDENER’S MAILBAG Dear Neil, I’m looking for a plant to replace several holly ferns that used to be in the shade until we lost a post-oak tree. The ferns have been barely hanging on since then.

OCTOBER 2005- Panther football parents Paul and Viola Chavez and Maria Olivas paint fresh white paw prints on Rio Street Tuesday, marking the trail for Friday night’s homecoming showdown against Lamesa at Panther Stadium. The Chavez’s sons are Seth (number 32) and Zach (number 40); Olivas’ son is Manny (number 10). Game time is 7:30 p.m., crowing is at 7:10 p.m.

Thanks to funding from the Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA) Legacy Restoration Fund, construction work on significant improvements to the Chisos Basin area of the park is expected to begin May 1 and continue for approximately two years. The Chisos Basin area will be closed to all visitor entry as work begins. This includes the Basin Road, lodging units, Basin Campground, restaurant, NPS visitor center, camper store, and trails within the Basin area. This work will ONLY affect the Chisos Basin area of Big Bend National Park. As significant components are completed, park managers will assess which areas can be safely reopened to regular public access.

Prairies are the lifeblood for pollinators, but many people don’t understand the critical role pollinators play in our lives. Native bees, butterflies, moths, hummingbirds and other pollinators do the important work of pollinating most species of flowering plants and crops, helping to grow our food and bring our native habitats to life. Pollinators are responsible for one out of every three bites in our diets.

The Fort Stockton Middle School Panther Football and Prowler Volleyball teams have been putting up impressive performances over the past few weeks, as they continue their seasons with grit and determination. Panther Football 8th Grade Blue Team A: On October 3, the 8th Grade Blue Panthers remained undefeated with a dominant 32-8 victory over Big Spring.
