History of Fort Stockton Baseball and Tournament

With the absence of a Fort Stockton varsity baseball team leading up to the early 1960s, the ambitious youth searched for ways to continue playing baseball after little league. In 1964, a local baseball team named Red Sox voted and transitioned into a team called the Blue Sox.
For the 3rd Annual Fort Stockton Barrio Fest Baseball Event this September, Barrio Fest will host a special commemorative Baseball Legends game to honor the historic teams of our past, the Fort Stockton Blue Sox and the Fort Stockton Sonics.

The Fort Stockton City Council convened on Monday, August 11, addressing critical community concerns, including a significant change to Main Street’s traffic flow and the city’s proposed tax rate.
After almost a year of Fort Stockton’s Main Street existing as a partial one-way, the city council approved an ordinance to return the city center to a two-way street. The oneway, now considered an experiment, was established to increase safety and drive traffic from Dickinson Blvd toward Big Bend National Park, however, many business owners on the street came forward with concerns. INGREDIENTS 1 1/2 pounds 80/20 of ground beef. 1/2 cup of crumbled blue cheese 2 to 4 slices of bacon Crispy iceberg or green leaf lettuce 1 thinly sliced hot-house tomato 1 small purple onion, thinly sliced Pickles if desired 1/2 teaspoon of garlic pepper 1/2 teaspoon of white pepper salt to taste 2 tablespoons of butter (for buns) 2 soft hamburger buns, pan toasted Condiments of choice DIRECTIONS 1.
