Remie Ramos, the current Pecos County Economic Development Director, has officially announced he is running for Pecos County Judge in the 2026 General Election. A lifelong resident of Pecos County, Ramos was raised in Fort Stockton and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Angelo State University.

In a world where peace can feel like just a word, students from Fort Stockton High School and Fort Stockton Middle School are taking action to make it a visual reality. Through their participation in an international art and literacy project, local students have created a “Pinwheels for Peace” art exhibit to express their feelings about peace.

Fort Stockton City Council Approves Budget

The Fort Stockton City Council convened for a regular meeting on Monday, September 8, tackling a comprehensive agenda that included budget approval, tax rate adjustments, utility and zoning ordinance changes, several key agreements, and the official designation of a Halloween date for the community. Mayor Paul Casias presided over the meeting, which saw no public testimony on regular agenda items.
Mayor Casias issued a proclamation endorsing Thursday, September 11, as “Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance” in Fort Stockton. EMS Open House, Memorial, and Land Use The Pecos County Commissioners Court convened Monday, September 8, for a regular session that saw significant decisions on a new spaceport lease, county equipment, and jail upgrades, among other items. A major topic of discussion was a proposed lease agreement for the Pecos County Spaceport Property, located at Greasewood Ranch south of Fort Stockton.
