Big Bend Sector Boosts Border Security with New High-Tech Surveillance Towers

The U.S. Border Patrol’s Big Bend Sector has strengthened its border security with the recent installation of two additional Autonomous Surveillance Towers (ASTs), enhancing the sector’s ability to monitor and respond to activity along the U.S.-Mexico border. These solar-powered towers, equipped with long-range sensors and thermal imaging technology, are designed to provide continuous, real- time surveillance, even in the rugged and remote areas of the Big Bend region.

Houston - David Shuster, the longstanding architect of the Houston Christian University (HCU) golf program, has transformed the school’s golf teams into a powerhouse since he was tasked with reviving the program in 2006. Now stepping into the role of Director of Golf while continuing as the Men’s Head Coach, Shuster leaves an impressive legacy from his dual role as head coach for both the men’s and women’s teams over his nearly two-decade tenure.
