Panthers 800 relay punches ticket to state

For the first time since 2007, the Fort Stockton boys track team will have a relay team run at the state.

The Panthers 800-meter relay clocked it’s two best times of the season on back-to-back days to accomplish the feat. The group which features Eliazar Lopez, Miguel Trejo, A.J. Garcia, and Aryan Hernandez finished in second place at the Class 4A Region 1 track meet in Lubbock.

Prowlers blanked by Andrews

The Andrews softball team blew Friday’s game wide open against Fort Stockton following a 12- run second inning that featured a game-best seven hits, three walks, an error, and a batter being hit by a pitch.

Mustangs stymie Panthers

In Fort Stockton’s first meeting with Andrews on March 26, the Mustangs jumped out to a 10-5 and never looked back in a 21-5 victory. Andrews’ matchup against the Panthers in Fort Stockton on April 16 had a similar tale, even with the Jeremy Valadez’s squad closing the gap by four runs.

Panthers JV get best of Andrews

Fort Stockton gained a 1-0 lead in the first inning of Saturday’s game against Andrews on the road and the Panthers led the rest of the way in their 11-9 victory. Xzavier Dominguez, Isaiah Garcia, and Kayden Torres played key roles offensively as the latter had multiple hits to go along with doubles by Garcia and Dominguez.

JV Prowlers suffer defeat to Lady Mustangs

The Fort Stockton softball team made plenty of contact at the plate during Friday’s home game against Andrews but were unable to take advantage as the Lady Mustangs were sure handed in the field. While the Prowlers were also stingy defensively, a five-run second inning by Andrews was enough for them to get a 7-1 win.

Venom meets Panthers at final home game

The Fort Stockton based Texas Venom baseball team met the Panthers varsity baseball team and took a photo on Fort Stockton’s High School field on Friday before the team’s final home game of the season against Andrews. “Texas Venom is a 10U Baseball travel team comprised of players that love all aspects of the game. These players bring a level of dedication and intensity that their hometowns should be proud of! All the parents and coaches are proud of each and every one of these young stars for dreaming big,” Venom head coach Isai Rojas said. Track and field: 14 Panthers, Prowlers qualify for regionals

Body

A total of 14 Fort Stockton track and field athletes took one step closer to qualifying for the state meet on April 15 at the team’s respective area track meet at Clint Mountain View High School.

A pair of Panther relay teams and Ali Jackson were top performers for Fort Stockton as the five male athletes who made up the two relay teams, and Jackson brought home a total of three gold medals.

Panthers keep thriving in district play

No matter the circumstance a game presents to them, the Fort Stockton baseball team has seemingly found a way to make the best of their opportunities on the diamond in recent time. On Friday at home against Seminole, the Indians committed five errors and Fort Stockton took full advantage.
