This year’s turnaround season for the Fort Stockton softball team represented a revitalization of the program’s dynasty that had rarely missed the postseason in the past decade.
The young talent on the Prowlers’ squad, which advanced to the area round in the playoffs this past spring, played an important role in Fort Stockton's progression.
That was a case in point when Fort Stockton’s all-district honors were announced last weekend.
When Jeremy Hickman received a phone call on Monday evening from Fort Stockton ISD Superintendent Dr. Gabriel Zamora, the Fort Stockton native was overcome with emotion after learning he was chosen to be the next head football coach and athletic director in his hometown.
The Fort Stockton ISD School Board unanimously voted for Hickman to become the next football coach and athletic director of the district on May 30.
The Fort Stockton volleyball program held their annual summer camp from May 24-26 at the Special Events Center. The event featured the Little Prowler Camp (third through fifth grade), Middle School Prowler Camp (sixth through eighth grade), and the Freshman Prowler Camp. Varsity head Gabrielle Harral, varsity assistant coach Sera Ramirez, and varsity assistant Coach Ella Gonzales helped conduct the camp along with numerous Prowler volleyball athletes.
