Rangers harness Panthers
In their first meeting of the season 23 days ago, Greenwood got the best of Fort Stockton on the Panthers home floor by a 46-point margin (89-43).
Fort Stockton showed improvement in their second meeting with the Rangers but could not come away with a win in a 62-32 defeat on the road.
“We didn’t have the best start of the game in the first half. But we slowly picked it up in the second half and ultimately we came up short,” Fort Stockton head coach Zack Roberson said.
The Rangers pulled away in the third quarter with an 18-5 scoring advantage in the frame following a 24-13 halftime lead.
Greenwood senior Conrad Morris scored 21 points and fellow senior Jovan Lopez added 14 as the duo combined to top the Panthers point total by three points.
Fort Stockton senior Aryan Hernandez led the Panthers in scoring with seven points and Isaiah Garcia added six.
