Ecclesiastes 3:1,” For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under the heavens.”

This is the time of year that thoughts turn to making and completing plans for vacation bible schools in their communities.

VBS brings back many happy memories. One memory is of lining up outside, and marching in to the tune of the talking piano. After we got inside we waited until the piano notes told us to sit down. Then other piano notes told us to stand for the scripture readings.

We would recite, “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go to the house of the Lord.” (Ps. 122:1 )

We would sing, “The Lord is in His holy temple. Let all the earth keep silent before Him.”

An awesome hush would fill the room. The presence of God was felt as scriptures were read. God was worshipped with songs of praise.

After the opening service, we divided into age groups to study specific bible characters and bible stories, and to create projects. There was lots of laughter, singing, and eating.

God was worshipped and adored.

Yes, this is the season for VBS!

Let us bring our children, grandchildren, and neighbor/community children to be filled at the Spring of Living Water, Jesus Christ, our Lord.
