Maria Consolacion Vasquez
Maria Consolacion (Connie) Vasquez passed away peacefully on June 15, surrounded by loved ones. Connie was born on September 2, 1932 in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Tomacita Ramos Gonzales and Saturnino L. Gonzales. Connie lived a life marked by love, family and strength. She was married to Joe D. Vasquez for 70 years until his passing in March 2017. Together they raised 6 children and built a life full of family dedication. Connie shared a special relationship with her husband Joe who brought her love, kindness and years of companionship. She was happiest during family gatherings filled with laughter, chatting around the kitchen table or cooking large holiday meals. Connie greatly enjoyed working with the Dr. Boon Medical Clinic for over 13 years. She made her community stronger by volunteering for St. Joseph’s Church as a Guadalupana (serving meals for parishioners) for over 25 years. Connie was also an avid fundraiser for her children’s school activities.
Mrs. Joe D. (Connie) Vasquez will be remembered for her loving kindness, the courage she gave others, and her unshakable love for all her children and over 32 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Connie is survived by her children Viola and Ray Milan, Sonny G. Vasquez, Elaine Gonzales-Fernandez, Rena Ortiz, Suyen V. Davis and Connie Vasquez; and her sister, Eva G. Valenzuela. A memorial service for Connie will be held at St. Joseph’s Church on Friday July 18,2025 at 1:15 p.m.
