Jackie Douglas Prince
Jackie Douglas Prince, formerly of Fort Stockton, Texas, passed away on Aug. 18, 2021.
Jack was born in Olney, Texas, to Jasper and Lola Prince on April 21, 1936.
He grew up in Kerens, Texas, where he graduated high school and attended Kilgore College to receive a degree in petroleum technology. He then served in the Texas National Guard before ultimately serving in the U.S. Navy on the USS Kearsarge carrier Navel ship. He was honorably discharged in 1962.
Jack married Sandra Ann Brown in Coyanosa, Texas, in 1959. They lived in California until his discharge from the Navy. They then moved to Fort Stockton, where they lived happily until Sandra passed 1998. Jack retired as a test driver from Firestone, and was a short haul truck driver in Pecos and surrounding counties until his retirement from Pool Trucking.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Prince; parents Jasper and Lola “Sally” Prince; brother Joe Paul Prince; and sister Sue Thornton.
He is survived by four children, Georgeann Gooding of Seminole, Texas, Tommye Sue Carpenter of El Paso, Texas, Vivian Kennedy of Fort Stockton, and Wesley Prince of Spring, Texas; two grandchildren, Wade McGovern and Cassie Snyder; and two great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Aug. 22, 2021, at Easthill Cemetery with Pastor Scott Owens officiating.
