Concepcion Chon” Gomez, Jr., 55, of Imperial, Texas, passed away on March 6, 2022, in Odessa, Texas.

Chon was born in Uvalde, Texas, to Concepcion Gomez and Francisca Esparza on Dec. 3, 1966. He went to school at Buena Vista, where he played football and was voted Mr. BVHS in 1985. He married the love of his life Cynthia (Chavez) Gomez on Oct. 24, 1992, in Fort Stockton, Texas.

Consuelo Rodriguez Tarin, 94, of Fort Stockton, Texas, passed from this life on March 5, 2022. She was born on Feb. 16, 1928, to Antonio and Dolores Rodriguez in DuBose, Texas. Consuelo was married to the late Rumaldo G. Tarin, who passed away in 2019. They were married for 72 love-filled years.

On Feb. 24, 1943, the Lord's most dutiful angel was brought into this world by Jimmy Lee Payne and Virginia Neeb Payne. His name was James O. Payne, 79, a resident of The Colony, Texas. He was born in Coleman, Texas, and he grew up in Cross Plains, Texas, where he graduated from Cross Plains High School. After high school, he went to McMurry University where he got his degree in teaching. On March 4, 2022, he was called back to heaven to carry out the work of our heavenly Father.

Wayne Allen Nix, Sr., 60, of Fort Stockton, Texas, went peacefully into the arms of Jesus surrounded by his loving family with songs and prayer on Feb. 27, 2022. 

Wayne was the son of C.W. and Nancy Nix who welcomed Wayne into this world on March 9, 1961, in Fort Stockton.

Wayne was a loving husband to his wife JoAnn Nix for 39 years, married June 12, 1982, and members of First Baptist Church, Fort Stockton.

Donald Clay Pfiester, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed on Feb. 17, 2022. Don was born on Jan. 20, 1949, to Roy Edward (Bunk) Pfiester and Sammie Warnock Pfiester in Fort Stockton, Texas.

Hunting and fishing were natural to Don, two passions he continued to have all his life and eventually passed on to his grandchildren.

He is survived by two nieces, Courtney Michelle Waggoner and Christen Melissa Waggoner; nephew Jerry L. Waggoner II (children); and F. Irene Waggoner, widow of brother Jerry L. Waggoner; and nephew Randy Dale Waggoner, son of Tommy Ray Waggoner (deceased).
