Jose “Joe” P. Martinez, Jr.

Jose “Joe” P. Martinez, Jr., left us to rest in peace on June 17, 2021. He was born on March 18, 1945, in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Jose and Maria Martinez.

Joe graduated from Fort Stockton High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, and served in Vietnam, where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. He then worked for the Texas proving grounds Bridgestone/Firestone test track, and was nicknamed “The Flying Jalapeno.”

Ralph M. Zamarippa, Jr., of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on June 12, 2021.

He was born on Jan. 23, 1937, in San Angelo to Rafael M. Zamarippa and Jesusita “Jessie” Losoya Zamarippa.

Ralph attended Lake View High School, and graduated with the class of 1955. He later went on to obtain a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Education from Sul Ross State University.

Octavia “Tavita” F. Rodriguez

On June 16, 2021, our beloved mother, grandmother, and wela passed away peacefully at the age of 94 after a brief illness.

She was born and raised in Sanderson, Texas, to Alberto and Octavia Fuentes on Sept. 10, 1926, where she lived her entire life. She was married on April 15, 1951, and for 69 years to the love of her life, Eutimio Rodriguez, until his passing on Dec. 9, 2020.

On June 15, 2021, Senobio Ortiz Aranda, “a man of determination,” left us to rest in peace. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandpa.

He was born in Mexico. He was determined to reach his goals in life. He became a U.S. citizen as soon as possible. He came to be a hard worker as a cowboy. Later in life he was determined to be a good welder and a mentor to those who also wanted to be good welders. Those who worked with him called him “Sonny.” He was always a good provider for the family.

Our beloved Anna Baeza Garcia went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2021. She was born in Hacienda, Texas, in Presidio County to Arcadio and Concepcion Baeza on July 28, 1921.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband Gustavo Garcia, Jr.; sons Osvaldo and Osmin Garcia; and grandson Tommy Breitling.

Eloisa Arias entered into rest on June 3, 2021. She was born on April 1, 1965, to Jose Vizcarra and Maria De La Luz Zamarripa.

Eloisa was preceded in death by parents Jose and Maria Vizcarra, brothers Isaias Vizcarra and  Mario Vizcarra, and nieces Anahi Vizcarra and Rosanna Vizcarra.
