COVID-19 cases reach all-time high in Pecos County

The current number of confirmed COVID-19 active cases and probable active cases reached an all-time high in Pecos County on Aug. 31.

The 74 current active confirmed cases tested in Fort Stockton and 17 probable active cases tested at Iraan General Hospital raise the total case number to 91 in the county – three higher than the previous record in Pecos County, which was 88 active cases on Dec. 29, 2020.

Nieves L. Gonzalez left us to be with Jesus on July 29, 2021. She was born on Aug. 5, 1927, in Chizos, Texas, to Anastacio Gonzalez and Rebecca Lopez.

Nieves was a loving grandmother and mother. She enjoyed singing with her son-in-law Victor Leyva who would sing to her every morning. She was a wonderful person inside and out, and was never in a bad mood. She was always happy, and catered to her children and grandchildren. She loved roses.

Jean Clifton Burrows went to her heavenly home on Aug. 30, 2021. Jean was born at home on May 28, 1935, in Roby, Texas.

Jean was a well-loved mom, Granny, Gee, and friend to so many.

Body

Selia Fabela Holloway went to be with our Lord on Aug. 24, 2021. She was born on Jan. 8, 1959, to her parents Domingo and Senaida Fabela in Fort Stockton, Texas.

Selia is survived by her husband David Glenn Holloway, their five children, Laura Farley, Jennifer Holloway, Sarah Henderson, Seth Holloway, and Isabelle Holloway; and her three brothers, Jose Luis Fabela, Javier Fabela, and Domingo Junior Fabela.
