The Prowlers put on an appropriate performance on a special night for Fort Stockton head girls basketball coach Sherman Chew.

The second-year head coach of the program claimed his 500th win as a coach with Fort Stockton’s 55-31 win over Lamesa on Nov. 16.

“It’s been a long 20 something years,” Chew said with a smile and laugh. “It’s been a ride and I appreciate all the girls that have been a part of it along the way.”

Cranberries and Thanksgiving

Body

Thanksgiving is just one week away. Many of the readers of Karan’s Korner are getting ready to prepare the traditional Thanksgiving meal, and looking for new ideas to add spark and new interest to the old standby meal items. One item I would not do without is cranberries.
When I see cranberries, I just know the holiday season has started. It reminds me of cold weather, family time, and carefree moments as a child. You can use them in baked goods, in sauces, as drinks, cooked with meat, or even strung up with popcorn to go on a Christmas tree.
