FSISD implements mask incentives

Mask-wearing incentives are now in place or will soon be in place at each Fort Stockton Independent School District campus for students who pledge to wear their mask every day when indoors. Principals at each campus were given the authority by the Fort Stockton ISD School Board to put incentives in place that were best fitted for their campus due to the range of motivational factors between age groups.

Fall Festival takes place on Saturday

This Saturday the event will be held at the former CVB Convention Center (former Stockton’s Entertainment) and have an addition compared to previous years.

The Fall Festival Cook-Off, organized by Jimmy Stephens, will be featured and have judging starting at 11 a.m. through 2 p.m.

Chicken will be judged at 11 a.m., pork ribs at noon, pork at 1 p.m., and brisket at 2 p.m.

Midland College, WRTTC students to help put on historical event

Students enrolled in business courses at the Midland College Williams Regional Technical Training Center (WRTTC) will be joining forces with the Goodnight-Loving Trail, Inc. and the Pecos County Historical Commission to help coordinate the annual Horse Head Crossing Celebration of History event on Nov. 5-6.

Murder case to go to grand jury

A murder charge against Fort Stockton teen Andrew Pacheco, 18, in the death of Edward Ramirez will go a grand jury in October in Pecos County according to 83rd District Attorney Ori White. White confirmed that the autopsy of Ramirez was completed in the last few weeks and a 12-person grand jury will decide whether to issue a True Bill or No Bill.
