Crews from Oprex Commercial Construction have been hard at work on the construction of the new South Side Fire Station in the 600 Block of West 2nd Street at the railroad tracks. Monday’s 90-degree weather provided for summerlike conditions for everybody who had to work outside. The county broke ground on the new fire station at the beginning of August and work includes the construction of a new metal building with storage spaces and a restroom as well as associated site improvements, approximately 10,000 square feet.
