Gonzalez’s speech highlights Toastmasters meeting
Toastmaster — a nonprofit educational organization — in Fort Stockton hosted their regular meeting on Feb. 25 at the Fort Stockton Public Library.
A delicious feast for lunch was provided by the organization’s president Karan Heffelfinger.
Oscar Gonzalez, a seasoned Toastmasters member was named the Best Speaker.
“Gonzalez gave his best speech ever on “A Good Name or a Good Example!” It was a perfect speech, nearly bringing tears to people’s eyes. Thank you and congratulations,” member Alicia Salinas said.
Houston McKenzie another seasoned member, took the Best Table Topics Speaker and Best Evaluator awards.
Santa Acosta, McKenzie, and Gonzalez have been Toastmasters members for over 25 years.
“They are a prime example of the core values of Toastmasters. They lead with integrity, respect, service and excellence. They along with other dedicated members have helped many people throughout the years gain communication, public speaking, and leadership skills that result in greater selfconfidence and personal growth,” Salinas added.
Join the organization’s supportive and positive learning environment on the second and fourth Fridays of each month at noon for one hour at the Fort Stockton Public Library. Lunch is provided for free.
