APRIL 19-22

The Big Bend Open Road Race and the weeklong festivities surrounding the event will begin on Wednesday, April 19 and end on Saturday, April 22 with the race. The event’s car show will be held at Rooney Park at 4 p.m. on Friday. The BBORR Parade is scheduled for Friday, April 21, starting at 5:30 p.m.

APRIL 22

Fort Stockton artist Steven M. Walker will host the Spring Gallery Opening at the FMH Hall, located at 102 S. Nelson St., starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 22. The event’s reception will be held from 6-8 p.m.

APRIL 22-23

The Miss Rodeo Comanche Springs Horsemanship Clinic will be held at the Pecos County Coliseum on Saturday, April 22 and Sunday, April 23. The clinic fee is $50, limited sports available. Shaun Strickland will be leading the clinic.

APRIL 24

Early voting for the local May 6 elections begin Monday, April 24 and end on Tuesday, May 2.

APRIL 29

A vaccine clinic for cats and dogs will be held on Saturday, April 29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Fort Stockton. Vehicles are asked to from a line from west First Street to north Nelson Street. Shots provided are rabies, DHLPP, bordello, rattlesnake, lyme’s, RCCP, fel leuk. City tags will also be available. Only cash and checks will be accepted as forms of payment.

APRIL 30-MAY 6

Small Business Week begins on Sunday, April 30 and runs through Saturday, May 6. Support local business and continue to help the local economy thrive in Fort Stockton.

MAY 3

The Stifftones will play live music at the Grey Mule Wine Saloon on Wednesday, May 3 from 6-8 p.m. The Grey Mule Saloon is located at 101 E. Calaghan St. in Fort Stockton.

MAY 5

The Cinco De Mayo Festivial will take place at the Fort Stockton Convention Center on Friday, May 5 from 6 p.m. to midnight. Live music will be played by Erick y su Grupo Massore and Mariachi Santa Cruz. The event has free admission and will have food and craft vendors available.
