Abilene Christian University congratulates Melissa Saunders of Fort Stockton on being named to the Spring 2026 Dean's Honor Roll. Saunders is a junior majoring in Child and Family Services.

Fort Stockton’s volleyball program got its summer schedule off to a solid start as the Prowlers completed the first week of Summer League competition against teams from across the region. A total of 11 teams participated in the opening week, giving Fort Stockton’s freshman, junior varsity, and varsity squads an opportunity to gain valuable court time as preparations continue for the upcoming fall season.

If you’ve seen more joggers on the streets lately, they may be training for Fort Davis’ Coolest 5K in Texas, held July 4th weekend. For anyone who has thought about running a 5K but has not made it past the couch, the distance may be more approachable than it seems.

Anyone witnessing the Summer Rec Program, can see the instillation of grit, diverse fun, and encouragement of effort to foster more adaptive and growth-oriented tactics in today’s youth. This program has consistently been described as a healthy way to stay active and discover new passions or interests in different sports.

Open to all Senior Center members and guests Dads are asked to wear a hat The Pecos County Senior Citizens Center will host a Father’s Day Lunch this Friday, June 26, at 12:00 noon at the Senior Center, located at 1010 W. 14th Street in Fort Stockton.

A dedication ceremony is scheduled for June 29 at 9:00 a.m. on the front porch of The Rollins- Sibley House.
