The Fort Stockton Panthers hit a bump in the road Friday night, falling 56-7 to the undefeated Greenwood Rangers in Midland. What began as a promising district stretch for the Panthers turned into a difficult outing against one of the top teams in West Texas.

The Fort Stockton High School Prowler Volleyball team wrapped up their regular season with a tough loss to the Greenwood Rangerettes on Saturday, October 25, falling 3-0. Despite a valiant effort, the Prowlers couldn’t overcome Greenwood’s strong front line and consistent serves.

The continuing federal shutdown means food benefits provided to 3.5 million Texans could be cut off in November, The Texas Tribune reported. Of those affected, nearly half are children.

The Fort Stockton ISD Board of Trustees met on October 27, recognizing outstanding students and educators while receiving construction updates on key district projects. The evening also included the presentation of additional inductees into the Distinguished Order of the Panther—an ongoing district honor recognizing excellence, integrity, and service— before concluding with plans for a special November meeting to address improvement plans.

The November 4 Election Day is quickly approaching as early voting comes to a close, 620 voters of the 8,255 registered voters in Pecos County turned out for early voting. They have been asked to weigh in on both local Fort StocktonIndependentSchool District (FSISD) bond propositions and 17 proposed Constitutional Amendments for the State of Texas.
