Prowler Middle School Volleyball Teams Show Growth, Grit, and Championship Spirit

The Fort Stockton Middle School Prowler Volleyball program has been busy in recent weeks, with all four teams – 7th Grade A, 7th Grade B, 8th Grade A, and 8th Grade B – putting in strong performances on the court. Guided by coaches Alhea Ureste, Vanessa Loya, and Ella Gonzales, the Prowlers have faced tough competition, but the results show steady growth and even championship-level success.

Panthers, Prowlers Battle Big Spring Course Ahead of District Meet

The Fort Stockton Panthers and Prowlers Cross Country teams made the trip to Big Spring this past weekend, where they faced a punishing course and some of the toughest competition yet this season. Taking on runners from powerhouse 5A and 6A programs out of Odessa, Midland, and Lubbock, the Fort Stockton athletes embraced the challenge and showed steady progress as district approaches.

Special Olympics Panthers Power to First Place Finish

The Fort Stockton Special Olympics Panther Softball team proved once again why they’re among the best in Texas, traveling to Midland and leaving with gold medals in hand. The Panthers entered the round robin tune-up with their eyes locked on the bigger prize—the upcoming Fall Classic Games in Odessa—and their performance made one thing clear: this team is ready to defend their state championship.

Panthers Celebrate Homecoming with 35-13 Win Over Crane

The Fort Stockton Panthers gave their home crowd plenty to cheer about on Friday night, securing a 35-13 victory over the Crane Golden Cranes in their 2025 homecoming matchup. The win marked the Panthers’ third straight and improved their record to 3-1 heading into the final week of non-district play.
Ryan Chavez, #19, and Fabin Ramirez each tallied tackles for loss. Special teams weren’t left out of the spotlight either. Sebastian Nieto, #18, was recognized as the Panthers’ special teams player of the week after delivering two big tackles on kickoff coverage that set the tone for field position battles. Dear Editor, We extend our sincere gratitude for Fort Stockton’s support, particularly in light of our recent efforts to assist with the flood-affected areas and provide care for pregnant canines at risk of euthanasia due to abandonment, a situation entirely beyond their control. Please consider donating or volunteering your time! We’re growing and need help to save these animals! Our goal to raise $600,000 for a new facility is on the way! We’re raising money through grant opportunities and private donors.

Goldman Sachs predicts artificial intelligence may displace up to 300 million jobs by 2027. Of course, I acquired that information from AI, so I have no idea if it’s true or if AI is just trying to bully me into making friends with it so it won’t render me as obsolete at work as I am at home.

In an operation being called “Lone Star 2.0,” more than 3,000 undocumented immigrants have been arrested by Texas Department of Public Safety officers this year, according to records obtained by The Texas Tribune. As illegal border crossings plunge, state police are shifting their energies toward aiding the Trump administration’s mass deportation effort.
