The Fort Stockton City Council convened on Monday, August 11, addressing critical community concerns, including a significant change to Main Street’s traffic flow and the city’s proposed tax rate.
After almost a year of Fort Stockton’s Main Street existing as a partial one-way, the city council approved an ordinance to return the city center to a two-way street. The oneway, now considered an experiment, was established to increase safety and drive traffic from Dickinson Blvd toward Big Bend National Park, however, many business owners on the street came forward with concerns.
