Boquillas winter schedule

The Boquillas Port of Entry within Big Bend National Park, providing access to the town of Boquillas, Coahuila, Mexico, as well as the Mexican Protected Areas of Maderas del Carmen and Ocampo, will change to the winter schedule beginning Monday, November 4.
The Boquillas Port of Entry is operated cooperatively by the National Park Service and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The facility is staffed by National Park Rangers who can assist travelers with information about visiting the area. Courtesy photo

Early voting for the general election closes tomorrow, Friday, November 1, with election day just around the corner, this upcoming Tuesday. Pecos County has had some early voter turnout for this election, however there are still quite a few remaining voters able to cast their ballot.

OCTOBER 2005- Panther football parents Paul and Viola Chavez and Maria Olivas paint fresh white paw prints on Rio Street Tuesday, marking the trail for Friday night’s homecoming showdown against Lamesa at Panther Stadium. The Chavez’s sons are Seth (number 32) and Zach (number 40); Olivas’ son is Manny (number 10). Game time is 7:30 p.m., crowing is at 7:10 p.m.

The 8th-grade Blue football team faced a challenging game against Greenwood, ending with a 0-34 loss.

The Prowlers demonstrated their strength and resilience, capturing a decisive win over Pecos but narrowly falling to Andrews in a hard-fought five-set contest.

The Fort Stockton Panthers varsity football team will face a defining moment this Friday as they take on the Monahans Loboes in their final district game of the regular season. With both teams coming off losses and looking to build momentum heading into the playoffs, the game promises high stakes and fierce competition.

Blue Wave Swim Team Battles Hard at Monahans Invitational

The Fort Stockton High School Blue Wave Swim Team made waves at the Monahans Swimming and Diving Invitational on October 25 and 26. Facing stiff competition from larger 6A-4A schools, the Blue Wave athletes held their own, showing resilience and determination that earned them an impressive 5th place overall out of 11 teams. The meet was a challenging one, yet the Blue Wave swimmers rose to the occasion, with numerous athletes setting personal bests and achieving substantial time drops.
