Beginning October 1, the Pecos County Memorial Hospital District will roll out this year’s flu vaccine, and according to several factors, the timing holds important intention. Andy Ghimire, a PCMH physician assistant certified doctor said, “Flu shots are crucial for everyone aged six months and older, especially those at higher risk of serious flu complications.

County Sees Voting Location Update

The Pecos County election administrator, Sophia Franco, opened her new office to welcome the community last Tuesday, National Voter Registration Day. Franco and Aimee Bislar, the assistant election administrator, saw a good crowd in the Pecos County Courthouse Annex, many who were interested in seeing not only their new office, which is where voting used to take place and which has been freshly painted and carpeted, but also to see where they will be voting in the quickly approaching election.

Strong Showings at Badger Invitational

The Fort Stockton Panthers Cross Country team showed grit and determination during the Badger Invitational in McCamey on Saturday, September 21st, with several athletes standing out in their respective divisions. Under the guidance of Coach Curtis Bishop, the team delivered commendable performances across the board, reflecting the hard work they’ve put in during the season.

The Fort Stockton Panthers Tennis Team has been putting up a valiant fight in their recent matchups, showing resilience and determination despite tough competition. On Tuesday, September 17, the Panthers traveled to Andrews for their first district match against the formidable Andrews Mustangs.

Each team continues to show heart, whether it’s securing victories or learning from tough losses, as they prepare for district play.

The Fort Stockton Panthers kept their perfect season alive on Friday night, delivering a strong 41-20 victory over the Crane Golden Cranes at El Ave Stadium. Crane, celebrating their homecoming, couldn’t fend off the relentless Panthers, who took control in the second half.
