Pecos County Senior Center to have potluck

The Pecos County Senior Citizens Center will host a potluck on Friday, Jan. 19 at noon. The theme is soup, so everyone is asked to bring either soups, stews or chowders, or side dishes or desserts. The soup potluck is open to all Senior Center members and will the perfect escape from the cold weather to feel warm and welcome.

City denies bid for weigh scale

The city of Fort Stockton put out a bid request for a vehicle weigh scale at the landfill but received just one bid. The council on Jan. 8 decided to deny the bid from Rusty’s Weigh Scales and Service of Lubbock to install the 70 foot by 11-foot scale because of the proposed cost.
