Prowlers roll Monahans, fall to Andrews

The Fort Stockton High School Prowlers visited Andrews lasty Friday and, for a while, looked like they would escape with a key district win. But a fourth quarter surge by the Lady Mustangs resulted in a 47-35 loss. Thiara Wislar and Kailyn Reeves, both earned the title of top scorers in the basketball game, delivering standout performances during the match with 12 points each.

One day it is hot and the next it is cold and it sure makes it difficult to know what clothes to wear. The changes in temperature have caused a lot of sickness. There are coughs and sinus infections going around and if you get it you may not get over it in several days.

If we admit it to ourselves, those questions can make us uncomfortable. We do not want to admit that our relationship with God is not paramount in our lives. Even as we desire to present the light of our savior to the people around us, we often fall short.

Janet Marie Luning, of Phoenix, Arizona and Elizabeth, Illinois passed away on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, in Phoenix at the age of 80. Janet was born on April 30, 1943, in Freeport, Illinois, the daughter of Wallie and Marcella (Blair) Roberts.

Janet and her husband, Glen were Caretakers for many years. They owned and operated several Care Homes for the Elderly in both Phoenix and Fort Stockton, Texas.

Refugio “Ralph” Vargas, of Fort Stockton, Texas passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas.

Visitation was held from 1-8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 22, 2024, and Rosary at 7 p.m. at Eternity Funeral Home.
