Fort Stockton ISD Teachers of the Quarter

Belva Houston was named the Alamo Teacher of the Quarter at last month’s school board meeting. Houston is currently teaching ELAR and social studies at the Alamo campus. Houston has worked for Fort Stockton ISD for 52 years.

Melissa Calderon was selected as the Intermediate Teacher of the Quarter for March at Monday’s school board meeting on March 28. Calderon is a bilingual first grade teacher.

Prowlers JV 10 Monahans 8 A well-rounded performance by the Prowlers offense, defense, and pitching earned them a 10-8 victory at Monahans on April 1. Sabrina got the start on the mound and pitched three innings before Alondra finished out the game.

Fort Stockton golf concludes season at districts

The Fort Stockton golf team had their season come to a close at the District 2-4A golf tournament at Shadow Hills Golf Course in Lubbock on April 31. The Panthers placed seventh as a team out of the 12 squads that competed.

Seminole 7 Panthers JV 6 The junior varsity blue baseball team traveled to Seminole on April 5 to conclude the first round of district play. The Panthers jumped to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on an RBI single by Josiah Trejo.

Don Roger Boswell, 68, passed away on March 26, 2022, in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on Jan. 22, 1954, in Fort Worth, Texas, the son of William Joseph and Wilma Kathryn (Hoefs) Boswell, while the family, including older brother Bill, resided on the farm in Fort Stockton, Texas.

While touring West Texas, a traveling family coordinated an overnight stay in Fort Stockton before visiting Fort Davis. “We’re from Helotes, which is close to San Antonio,” began Carlos.
