LOOKING BACK

April 1976 issue: I NEVER PROMISED YOU A ROSE GARDEN . . . But here it is! E.W. Sullivan and his grandson Greg are pictured standing in front of the brilliant display of roses which practically cover the Sullivan mobile home at 1008 W. State Street. The climbing red roses are a product of hard work on the part of Mr. Sullivan, who says he nurtured the bushes into their present glory with loads of fertilizer water and rose food.

After the music stops

Body
While scrolling through Facebook, I saw a post of a bird saying, “Chirp,” and another bird saying, “Great, now I have that song in my head.” I thought it was so funny because I believe it happens to most of us. We are listening to music, and one little phrase just stays lingering in your head.

City council approves annexation process for Triple Crown Estates

Body
The City of Fort Stockton City Council took an initial step to annex land outside of city limits for the purpose of providing utilities to a new housing subdivision in the near future. City council approved the initiation of the voluntary annexation process for 20.1 acres of the Triple Crown Estates land – zoned property for a multiplefamily dwelling district for the purpose of obtaining utility services.
Triple Crown Estates could be in existence by the end of this year pending on the annexation approval for the land which the subdivision is planned to be built on. Pictured is an image of what the subdivision could potentially look like when finished. The public can view the image along South Greasewood Street. Courtesy Photo
