Buena Vista’s Aiden Lopez sacks the Balmorhea quarterback to force a turnover on downs to start the second quarter Friday in Balmorhea. The Buena Vista fell to the host Bears 42-22 after tying the game at 6 apiece on a Jackie Jurado scoring run in the first quarter. The Bears led 34-6 when Jurado scored again to make it 34-14 in the fourth quarter. Vick Garza passed 66 yards to Jose Castro and after the conversion it was 34-22. Fort Stockton and Crane are natural rivals due to their proximity to one another and no matter the classification or records coming in, the Panthers and Golden Cranes are going to provide for an entertaining football game. And last Friday night’s 44-34 Panther win was just that.

Dominant Victory Over Horizon Brings the Panthers to 3-0

Fort Stockton continued down an undefeated path as they claimed a victory over the Horizon Scorpions from El Paso, Friday night at Panther Stadium. “(We) wanted to establish the game early,” said Coach Jeremy Hickman, who felt as though “Both the offensive and the defensive lines really controlled the ball game.” The Panthers did just that when cornerback, Randy Sandoval, intercepted Horizon’s pass on the first drive of the game.

Prowlers swept at Midland Legacy

The Fort Stockton Prowlers traveled to Midland to take on Midland Legacy High School in a non-district contest last week. The varsity took a tough loss 25-20, 25-18, 25-12. The Rebels proved to be a tough opponent, but they were able to provide the Prowlers with a practice plan of things to improve moving forward.

Panthers fall to Odessa High, Permian

Fort Stockton’s Volleyball program traveled to Odessa to take on the Odessa High School Lady Bronchos last Tuesday, with the varsity Prowlers falling to the Lady Bronchos in four sets, 20-25, 25-23, 15-25, and 24-26.
