CAREER AWARENESS DAY … Jake Sealy, custyomer service supervisor witj Southwestern Bell Telephone Company showed a film entitled, “Telezonia” to students at Alamo Elementary Monday during an assembly program. The program, one of the first in a series to be presented at the elementary schools during Career Awareness Month in November, is being coordinated by school counselors Billy Espino and Shirly Boggus. Students are being given the opportunity to hear about different phases of work. Workers in the community are scheduled throughout the month for the assembly programs.

October 1973 issue: GAYLORD GRABS PONY – Looking ferocious as all get out, Panther punter and split end Gaylord Gilbreath wraps a big arm around Andrews Mustangs quarterback Jimmy Christian Friday night during the Panther victory there. This was a key play, in which Gilbreath had punted. In the picture above, he was hauling Christian down on the FSHS five-yard line. The Mustangs were then held by the battling Panther line for two downs; then scored their only touchdown of the night on a third down pass play.

Hoping To Ride – Children at Alamo Elementary are trying out the fire truck in hopes their class is victorious in a contest in which the winning class gets a ride on the big red fire engine. The class with the most parents attending an Open House Monday will get the opportunity.
