Former Pecos County Memorial Hospital Board Members Dwayne Bonham and Delilia Urias were recognized for their years of service on the hospital board at the group’s regular meeting on Dec. 21 at PCMH. Steve Oliver rolled into Fort Stockton looking as cool as a cucumber. Exiting his bright red Mercedes Sprinter wearing a cowboy hat and scarf, he said, “We’re headed out to Wolf Creek in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.”

The Fort Stockton Insurance Agency will celebrate its 110-year anniversary with an open house social on Dec. 30 from 4-7 p.m. at their newly renovated office on 901 W. Dickinson Blvd. The event will feature food from two of the top food trucks in town in Billys Phillies and Z Fustion Twist. Refreshments will be provided. Owner Pam Palileo and her father Phil Chamberlain are pictured with the location’s new interior sign. Most often, a Fort Stockton resident can distinguish a traveler passing through town. This past Monday it was easy for locals to identify a group of foreigners as they were spotted dancing in the Stripes parking lot off Dickinson Boulevard.

ROTARY CLUB TOY DRIVE

Santa made a special visit to Fort Stockton a few days ahead of Christmas. With some of his elves and other helpers, Santa delivered dozens of toys around town to children and families in need on the morning of Dec. 18. Opening the door to see an unexpected guest, the children were ecstatic. Through donations to the Fort Stockton Rotary Club’s toy drive, several children will have an extra special holiday this year.
